T O P I C R E V I E Wpaisleyutopia2Greetings everyone,For a good while now; I've been angry/hurt. I'm in a constant state of pain. I have a bad back, & I've had a disc removed, yet, I still hurt. Need knee replacement, have a bum hip, & have recently sprained both my ankles :/. Add klutz to that too perhaps. I've suffered a lot of loss in my family too, mom & dad awhile back, & seemingly, it's intensifying the pain. Despite that, I'm typically a happy, & positive person. I just feel a little lost. Is it possible that I'm somehow bc I'm feeling off kilter, & still kinda grieving, & not feeling like I'm a part of much anymore, this physical pain with my ankles- that's almost debilitating- is/was a manifestation of the hurt & upset I feel right now ? I'm uncertain what to think or do right now. I'm beyond ready to be better, I just know some of my ailments are due to injuries, & I can mainly only seek comfort. Any advice or suggestions ? I'm all ears (& heart) 💜 Thank you. Lexxigramerpaisleyutopia2 Welcome to LindaLand! You might get better replies if you post this at Sweet Peas In The Rain and even at Health And Healing.I am totally and permanently disabled and in constant pain and too often nearly unbearable agony from a long list of injuries, serious chronic and some rare ailments. I can relate to your pain. However, please do not ascribe your pain to some vague manifestation/hypochondria and all, because you do state you have suffered actual injury. Yes. sadness can exacerbate pain but does not cause the underlying actual physical causes.I am moving this to Sweet Peas In The Rain. Please post at Health And Healing too if you desire to.May you soon feel better and better times come to you! {{{ }}}Voix_de_la_MerDear Paisleyutopia,I'm sorry you have so much to deal with, both physical and psychological, but it bodes well that you have protected and nurtured a positive attitude. To answer your question, it is possible that you may not have processed the grief from bereavements, yes. But it would be difficult to ascertain without a full assessment by a practitioner. Certainly your physical ailments could also be impacting your sense of self, of direction, if you are feeling that they limit your options or present challenges to your goals. A sense of loss, similar to grief, can also be experienced with chronic health conditions.Do you attend any therapeutic or pain management groups at all? Any creative groups? But I suppose the main question is, what do *you* feel is missing from your life?paisleyutopia2Thank you so much Lexxi & Voix !I'd appreciate any help I could receive Lexxi, so I appreciate your help & advice. Just airing your woes can help sometimes. Also if you are like me; them posting here might be one of the few social outlets in your life at this time. Being social can help even though online and not in physical life. It can help one not feel so isolated. Do you feel your physical ills are your biggest issue affecting your life;or are your psychological/emotional ills affecting the quality of your life more?Or; do both affect you equally? Are your ills curable eventually or are they perhaps permanent? Sigh...I sincerely feel for folks in pain. I live with chronic acute pain and immobility etc., and cannot take any medications. I have run out of options. Are there any medications or therapy that may help you? Also are you young or older like me?Keep posting here! We are listening!Lexxigramerpaisleyutopia2I love your user name! paisleyutopia2Hi again Lexi, Thank you so very much for your response. & thank you compliment, & for your support. In answer to your question, my injuries are permanent. I often wonder if/when I have knee replacement surgery if it will help me ache less; but arthritis has also been there, for quite some time. I'm middle aged, but I'm trying to do all I can to help. Often uncertain how to go about it. I also suffer with depression; so, yes, there are obviously other factors to consider. I appreciate the warm welcome, & will try to come back often. I'm grateful I can make new friends here too, that means a lot. I believe my chiropractor is about all the help I can get. I'm not big on pills either, but I do take supplements. Tumeric supreme, omega joint xtra, & I use biofreeze, aspirin baths (breaks down lactic acid after exercise), & I just bought something someone recommended called Pain Terminator. I hope it helps. I also hope any of these things help you too. In the interim, I'll be wishing you well, & envisioning you surrounded by healing purple light. Peace & Blessings... 💜☮paisleyutopia2I lost access to my PaisleyUtopia account, so Randall helped me create this one. Everyone here is a blessing ☮Lexxigramerpaisleyutopia2 I am 62; but it sounds like you and I share much of the same ills.I am usually more resigned these days than depressed in the psychological area. Oh yes, Chiropractor! He is the only doctor who does me any good. Unfortunately between no transportation and other ills making it too hard to get to him as much as I need to; I have not been back to him since last September. Hopefully we can get our 7 year old car fixed enough so I can start seeing him at least once a month again. But yes, Chiropractic is great!I have tried and still use all the things you mention and or very similar things. I will look at my topical meds and get back to you with names and where to get them. All work better than Biofreeze, which is great too, but a bit pricey and other companies' formulations are stronger and non staining.I am saddened that your ills are permanent too. We just have to do what we can do to keep going and enjoy life as much as we can. I have been disabled for over 28 years to date. If you have not posted at Health And Healing yet; I suggest you do. Folks might come up with advice that you can use,. Even if not; it is good to air your ills and all. Aspirin baths sound nice; but I do not have a bath I am able to use. Maybe someday I can get one put in. I get steroid/Lidocaine injections too from time to time. I send back to you healing energy and peaceful feelings and wishes for your health to improve. Blessings to you too! Epsom salt soaks can help too. Oh if you did not know this; do not let cats if you have them lick you or your towels after an aspirin baths. Aspirin is highly deadly to cats. Biofreeze can also cause them, serious illness. Not sure if they are dangerous to dogs though.paisleyutopia2Thank you so very much for all you've shared ! I agree chiropractors are the best. It takes me some time & another driver to get there right now too. Bc I've sprained my ankle. So driving is out. I hope you can get your car fixed. They really do come in handy. Epsom salt baths are great, but they can raise BP. I've used lidocaine ointment & before back surgery had pain patches, but they didn't do much. Also had voltarian gel. I'm trying to keep comfortable too. Biofreeze must have gotten the message, bc they've introduced a colorless more potent? version. I'll try anything that can help, & im more than grateful for your suggestions ! I didn't know there was a health section here !! I'm so happy we've met ! 💜☮paisleyutopia2Thank you again so very much Lexi ! I had no idea about the salts, biofreeze & animals. Not surprised. I don't let my dog near my biofreeze. I'm grateful for your wisdoms. 💜☮ Lexxigramerpaisleyutopia2 I will reply to your two post later. Not doing well at the moment. Please bear with me.PS. Rain tomorrow. Arthur. I'm using my phone, & not my computer, so the link for the smilies sends me to another page; so I'll make due with what I have. The reply notifications seemingly all go to my junk file, so it takes me searing for them, to know you've replied. Forgive me my lateness. Take good care. Hope to talk soon.
